Hi,

Tried to update the Dev vm from version .39 to .44, got the below error,

Error in step 27: Update script for service model: DevToolsService on machine: DevVM

bec of this error VS is not working - AOT objects and projects are not opening got the below error

tried all the solutions given in community but still the error is not solved,

Solution 1:

Go to Service Drive, on the cloud deployments it is k:\
Go into Deployable Packages Folder and Find the Package that failed, you can find it using date/time sorting.
Find the DevToolsService Scripts and there is a PowerShell Script named as AutoUpdateDevToolsService
Run this script manually and resume the update from the LCS.

Solution 2:

VSIX Installer

anyone have solution for this?

Hi Saran,

Have you checked the error logs from the deployment about why it might fail? Note that your original version was quite old. Does this VM already have Visual Studio 2022 installed? If you keep having issues, the most easy would be deploying a new VM, connect to DevOps, get latest and continue. You might want to backup the database from this environment to be restored in the new VM.

Remember facing it in the pass.

What the outcome of running the PS script ? Did it all went fine? I would normally run the PS in parts/chunks to understand, what it doing at every step and verify the outcome.
