Having challenges getting OCR to work

Hello all!

I've gotten stuck in setting up OCR for my company. I did the OCR set up, paid the premium plan so I can bring in the lines, and I was able to upload a document send it to the OCR, identify header information and lines, but when the OCR exported the information back to BC, the line information did not come through and it did not create an error. Additionally, it didn't give me the option to "create document." Anyone have an idea about what went wrong....?

In troubleshooting the issue, I found this video: Bing Videos. In the video the presenter goes to a page called Document Journal which doesn't come up in my Dynamics 365 BC. Did I miss a set up or turning an important feature on?

I've also seen in some places reference to Dynamics 365 for Finance. Is this a special license or add on?

TIA!

    Hello,

If OCR sends the header but not the lines, it usually means the vendor or line mapping wasn’t recognized. When BC sees incomplete data, the Create Document action doesn’t appear.

    Hello,

Your issue likely stems from template configuration: if fields like Amount Incl. VAT have “Stop Lines Recognition” enabled, OCR stops scanning before reaching the actual lines, so they don’t export back to Business Central.

The “Create Document” option only appears when all mandatory header fields are validated in the Document Journal, which is part of Continia Document Capture—accessible via Role Center cues or Document Categories.

If you don’t see it, your Role Center may need the Continia activities page added. Finally, Dynamics 365 Finance is a separate ERP for large enterprises and not required for Continia OCR in Business Central.
