Hi team,

As per the customer requirement, the SO confirmation and posting should happened through batch jobs.

So, as per the design , I decided to do through SOF.

In loop, when we receive Sales order from Sales table

We should use try and catch scope.

In try,
We should call the sales order_confirmation and sales order_invoice to confirm and invoice for each and every sales order.

In catch , we captured the failure sales order. So, later we can analysis the same.

Is am I correct ?

Kindhy let me know if anything wrong.

Thanks!

Why do you want to call them through the code? You can schedule the batch jobs to run for example every 30 minutes or every hour and the jobs will run and update orders, and you can save history of jobs so you can check the failed orders.

     Thanks

Why have you decided to implement something custom? F&O already is capable of posting in batch.

Hi Waed, during the process for SO confirmation and posting, where is the option to call this as batch?

    Kindly elaborate pls.

Additionally, just I am checking, is my concept is correct? If I do to acheive the same in batch.

    Pls confirm. Thanks!

Please explain what exactly do you mean by "confirmation and posting", because there are several things you can post: a confirmation, a packing slip, an invoice... Your current statement sounds like "a confirmation posting and some other unspecified type of posting".

In either case, the framework (FormLetter) is based on SysOperation framework and does support batch processing. You can

On a sales order, when you click Confirm sales order button (in the action pane under Sell > Generate), you'll get a dialog with the Batch button you can use for this purpose.

You can also use the Select button to change the criteria of what will be posted, Late selection to let the criteria evaluate when the batch runs (important for recurring batch jobs) and so on.

You can also call the posting framework from custom code, which is a different thing than ignoring the framework and trying to implement the batch support again on your own.
