User unable to see correct App

Hi,

Here is a conundrum??

I've recently created a new Model Driven App called Patient Carers.

Created this in a new Environment. Created tables, set up Teams, Roles, Security.

But the two users, currently who need to access the app are doing so by another entity, in another app??

Dynamics 365 Live Environment

Patient Carers Environment

The Patient Carers app is required to enable sending Journeys so the Customer Insight app has been installed....

The app was created to segregate B2B and B2C contacts and for different users..

As mentioned previously the two users who are working on the Patient Carers app can see the contacts, via another Environment.

When i send the link to the App via the Patient Carers Environment they see this

Not the actual Patient Carers App.

Within the Dynamics 365 Live Environment they a version of the Patient Carers app, but it's not the correct one and as incorrect data in

To make things even more confusing when the Customer Insights - Journey app is opened the Contacts entity display the Patient Carers data??

I would like the current users and any additional users to use the one app 'Patient Carers'

Hopefully this all makes sense and it's just a access permission issue??

As per your explanation you’ve basically got people looking in the wrong place and not having the right access. Your users are opening the Live environment, not your new Patient Carers environment There’s an old/incorrect version of the app in Live, so they see the wrong data. When they try your new app link, they don’t see it properly because they don’t have the right permissions

To Fix this :

Ask them to switch to the “Patient Carers” environment (top-right corner)

Make sure they have a security role assigned to the Patient Carers app

Rename or remove the old app in Live so no one uses it by mistake

This will result that thye will open one app, in the right environment, with the correct data

The most probable cause is that the users either:

Do not have the correct role assigned to the Patient Carers app, or

Are accessing a similarly named app in the Dynamics 365 Live environment instead of the dedicated Patient Carers environment.

Next steps

Confirm the environment URL being used.

Verify the users exist in the Patient Carers environment.

Check app role assignments (Apps → Patient Carers → Manage Roles).

Confirm any environment security group membership.

Have the users launch the app directly from the Patient Carers environment rather than through a bookmarked or previously shared link.

Once these checks are completed, the issue should become much clearer, as Dataverse environments are isolated and users should not be seeing data from another environment unless they are actually connected to that environment.
