We’re looking for best practices or systembased ways to ensure that Sales Orders from VIP or customers are automatically prioritized by MRP and production scheduling. even if it means delaying other orders with earlier requested dates.
Specifically:
- How do you flag or tag a Sales Order as “priority”?
- Is anyone using the Priority field on SO ?
- Have you customized your MRP firming logic to auto-schedule or reserve capacity for these priority orders?
- Do you manage this with coverage groups, forecast buffering, or reserved capacity?
- Any clever workarounds or automation rules in use
We want planners to see and act on priority orders first or even better have the system help them do that during master planning.
