Model & Profile Migration in MSM

We're currently exploring ways to mitigate risks associated with using the Configuration Migration Tool (CMT) in Microsoft Sustainability Manager. As it stands, the tool appears to require migrating all models and profiles with each execution. While this worked well for our initial deployment to PROD, it poses challenges for incremental updates—especially when we only intend to push one or two targeted changes. The potential to unintentionally deploy unrelated components is a concern we'd like to avoid.

I'm posting this in the community to seek alternate approaches, if any, that would allow for selective migration of specific models and profiles in MSM between environments

    Hey

Configuration Migration will export all data in the Tables, and you can't perform filtering.  For regular data, you can try building queries with the fields you need, and then exporting using excel. However, this won't work for models.

You can also try searching on Microsoft Marketplace, try using API to retrieve the model and then insert into the target environment (using API). Finally, you can search for third party apps that assist you with this.

Have you tried using the Configure Import Settings | Tools | Configure Import Settings to filter the Calculation Models and Calculation Profiles in the CMT tool?

As suggested by @KerryRJ CMT has built-in filtering capability using FetchXML. You can apply required filters in the Active Calc Models view in MSM and download the FetchXML for the filter condition and use that in the CMT.
