How to change Start and End dates on existing fiscal calendar

Greetings All -

I have a client that has configured the wrong start and end dates on their 2025 fiscal calendar. They have not yet gone live so the below set up is only in their UAT, DM and golden data (Stage) stage environments.

Is there a way I can edit the calendar to change these dates. I've seen prior forum posts that speak to splitting periods but don't see where that process would help here. But, I'm not really up to speed on this functionality so maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Regards,
Barry

These are the dates that should have been entered.

    Hi Barry,

Since its a new year without any transaction, you can delete the year and create a new financial year with proper dates.

Thank you for your response Bharath Jain but just to clarify there were transactions posted in the month of January so the option to delete the year is not allowed.

Anyone have thoughts on how I can modify Start and End dates for a calendar that has posted transactions in the first period?

    Thanks,
    Barry

    Hi Barry,

You can try to create a new fiscal calendar and change that on the Ledger form. You can refer to a blog I wrote about a similar requirement to change the length of a year. It is written for AX 2012, but applicable to Dynamics 365 Finance as well: AX 2012 - Change fiscal calendar to a shifted year - Dynamicspedia

Thank you for your response Andre. I was hoping not to have to create a new fiscal calendar but if that's my only option then that's what I'll do. I'll take a look at the link you shared also.

    Regards,
    Barry
