We are facing an issue related to a package number and expiry dates in Business Central. For one particular item and its package number (details below), multiple expiry dates have been registered under different modules (Warehouse Reclassification Journal and Assembly Order).

Because of this, we are unable to use the package number while posting the sales invoice. The system displays the following error:

"There are multiple expiration dates registered for lot ."

Details:

  • Item No.: GTP98HPKR

  • Item Description: YEAST EXTRACT L-GLUTATHIONE 98

  • Package No.: GTP2507169

  • Expiry Dates Registered:

    • 28-07-2028

    • 01-06-2028

    • 01-03-2028

We kindly request your guidance on how to resolve this issue. If no direct solution is available, please advise us on the possibility of deleting or correcting these entries.

Looking forward to your assistance.

Since you have tried all possibiltiies  , only way is to update Expiration data as same DAte for same lot  in Item Ledger . It needs to be done using AL code. It needs to be done by Admin , This practice is not correct to implement . Since you are not able to ship out the lot , this is one way i can suggest .

Hi, Although not recommended, you can modify the following data directly through customization

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

The error occurs because Business Central requires each package number to have a single expiration date.

    To resolve:
    > Identify all entries where the package number is used (Warehouse Reclassification Journal, Assembly Orders, Item Ledger Entries).
    > Decide which expiry date is correct.
    > Correct the other entries by either:
    > Adjusting the expiry date to match the correct one, or
    > Deleting the incorrect lot/serial entries (use item reclassification or adjustment journals if needed).
    > Ensure the package number now only has one expiry date before posting the sales invoice.

Always take a backup or work in a sandbox before making adjustments.

    Thanks

Have you tried using the Item Reclassification Journal to update the expiration dates so they're all the same?
