Hi:

In the same company within Business Central, can you utilize both Assembly and Production?

In other words, can you create and utilize Assembly BOMs and Assembly Orders as well as Production BOMs and Production Orders?

Yes, this isn't a limitation at all. Even a single item can have both an Assembly BOM and Production BOM setup as well. You can interchangeably use them throughout the system. I have clients I work with that use Production Orders in some scenarios but still use assembly orders to build kits they ship out. Make sure you update your replenishment system on the Item card:

And make sure if you are using SKUs you also set the appropriate replenishment type on the SKU level.

Just keep in mind you still need a premium license for the production/manufacturing module in BC.

Hey Friend, Short Answer yes.

Assembly and Manufacturing can be used hand in hand, make sure you have a Business Central premium license.

What replenishment you wish to use can be selected on the Item card, either as production or assembly and then you can choose the corresponding BOMS.

I am still thinking if there might be any case of willing using the same item as production and assembly. Do you think that could be a possibility in your process?

Normally this never happens.

Yes, it's possible.
For example, complex production processes use a Production BOM. For simpler tasks like packing finished products into boxes, an Assembly BOM can be used.
