How to reverse the fixed assets being sold

In D365 Finance & Operations, a fixed asset has been sold and the corresponding fixed asset journal has already been posted.

 

However, we have identified that the posting was incorrect. Could you please advise on the correct way to reverse this transaction?

 

FYI, fixed asset's status = SOLD

    Hi J Lee,

    You can't reverse the free text invoice related to a fixed asset. You will need to make manual corrections. You can change the status of the asset book to be able to post new transactions.

    If the fiscal period is open, then please try reversing the transaction from Fixed asset transactions (AssetTrans).

    As this fixed asset has already been 'Disposal-sold' and its status is in 'SOLD', which transaction entry will be reversed? 
    Once reverse, 
    1) Fixed assets will be OPEN or not?
    2) what transaction will be generated for reversion?

    If you reverse the disposal transaction from Fixed asset transactions, the system will reverse the sale entry.

    1. The asset status will change from Sold → Open
    2. A reversal transaction will be created with opposite values, restoring the asset to its previous state
