We are evaluating the standard Business Central Power BI app and have noticed what appears to be an inconsistency in currency handling.
Theapp retrieves data from tables including Value Entries, Sales InvoiceLines, and Sales Credit Memo Lines. Value Entries seem to use LCY amounts, while Sales Invoice Lines and Sales Credit Memo Lines appear to use amounts in the original document currency.
As a result, reports can display incorrect or misleading totals when transactions exist in multiple currencies, since amounts from different currencies are effectively mixed. Could you clarify whether this is: An intended design choice, A known limitation, Or a bug in the standard Power BI app?
What is the recommended approach for companies that sell in multiple currencies? Is there a supported way to consistently report in LCY (or alternatively allow users to switch reporting currency) without having to redesign the standard dataset? At the moment, the app becomes difficult to use for multi-currency environments because the figures are not directly comparable.
Thank you!
