    Hi @David Tailor

We can schedule the deployment for UAT but we don't have any options to schdule a prod deployment through release pipeline.

Are you getting any error message with the tasks?

    Thanks,
    Subra

    Hi Subra,

Thank you for your reply. Noted.
But why the code was not applied to UAT despite successful pipeline and release?

    Regards,
    David

    Hi @David Tailor

It's due to some setup might be missing, could you please share the ss for all the tasks?

    Hi David,

There can be multiple reasons. Were the changes checked in and is the configuration for the build pointing to the correct repository?
When deploying the package, is the correct environment configured? Can you check some environment history for the deployment of the package?

Both are pipelines; you're talking about a build pipeline and a release pipeline.

Do you have UAT deployed through LCS or as a unified sandbox environment?

If the former, the task you need is called Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) Asset Deployment. You'll also need Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) Asset Upload.

If it's an USE, remember that you can't deploy the usual deployable package - you need the unified package.

Also, don't forget that you can open details of the pipeline execution and check what happened. As you see, that it didn't throw an error doesn't mean that it does what you intended.

    Hi Martin,

the environment was created in LCS first plus in LCS,  i can see there is an integration to Power Platform.
it has a self hosted cloud Dev:
i have been told that the agents used in release pipeline are meant for D365 products to deploy to dataverse except FnO, so as you mentioned i have to use LCS upload tool not PPAC upload tool.

    is it right?

    Regards,
    David

Azure DevOps agents are used to run pipeline tasks and they're nothing specific to D365. They may be used to build and release C# Azure functions, Java web applications or anything else; it all depends on what tasks you use.
For deployment to F&O LCS environments, you need the tasks I mentioned above.

Well, as i mentioned before, the build pipeline successfully created the deployable package (all build pipeline tasks succeeded).
now and as per Martin, i have to use:
1- Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) Asset Deployment.
    2-
Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) Asset Upload.

instead of the Power Platform Deploy Package tool.

the issue is that with PPAC path, i can use service principal with client secret.
however, when i want to configure the LCS tool, i have to use a dedicated account with no MFA as seen in the following screenshot:

this setup is considered risky for some companies that deny no MFA accounts.
    kindly advise,

    Regards,
    David
