GP RM Statement file name customization

customer needs to change the output file name for RM Statements.
 
company wants name format to be Statement - <Statement Name> - <Statement Date>
 
found support blog entry indicating this was possible with Report Writer (???  -- not sure i believe that)
 
has anyone successfully figured out how to change via RW?
 
is there a dex customization to do this?

    Hi There
     
    I finally got around to checking the code and I believe that we can change the file name used.
     
    You can use Dexterity or even easier GP Power Tools, to create the trigger needed.
     
    In the RM_Statements_EmailNextStatement global procedure there is a couple of calls to the SY_BuildTempFileName global procedure. 
     
    A trigger after SY_BuildTempFileName should work to change the file name.
     
    I have not tried it yet, but I believe it would be possible.
     
    Reach out if you want to try it. We can use the free 30 day trial period of GP Power Tools to do the proof of concept.

    GP RM Statement file name customization
    If you want to go to the third-party route, Rockton Software makes an SSRS add-on that can replace any or all of the Report Writer reports with SSRS forms or reports. The file name can get customized too.

    Yes, you can create a Dexterity customization to: Report Writer (RW) can modify the layout/content of reports, but cannot control file naming during output. So no, RW cannot change output filenames on its own.
