Standard Task Code

We used to be able to edit the Standard Task Code on the Routing Lines of Production orders.  It appears that with the update to 26.2, the field was removed from the Routing Lines screen (I had to add back via profile customization, field is not available via personalization), but it is also non-editable. What can I do to make this editable? From what I am seeing, it is not a permissions issue.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I opted for design mode and saved the extension and add it over production order line level and it's editable.

You can check at your level as well.

Please test the extension in a sandbox environment to ensure it doesn’t conflict with other customizations or cause unexpected behavior.

    Hi Bratt,

Thanks for your question. You're correct that in version 26.2 of Dynamics 365 Business Central, the Standard Task Code field on Routing Lines has become non-editable by default.

Here are a few things you can try:

    1. Profile Customization vs Personalization

Since you've already added the field back via profile customization, make sure you're using a role center that allows editing of production-related fields. Some role centers may restrict editing based on context.

    2. Page Extension

If you're working in a sandbox or have access to development resources, you can create a page extension to make the field editable again. This involves modifying the page properties in AL code to set Editable = true.

    3. Field Behavior Change

It’s possible that Microsoft changed the behavior of this field due to process standardization. You might want to check the release notes or contact Microsoft support to confirm if this is by design.

    4. Permissions Check

Even though you mentioned it's not a permissions issue, double-check that your user role has full access to production orders and routing lines, especially if custom permission sets are in use.

Let me know if this helps, and please mark the response as helpful if it solved your issue 😊

    Best regards!
