Access restriction for Customer Credit Limit Adjustment types

Hi community,

How can we allow certain users to access Customer Credit Limit Adjustment with the ability to create records for both Credit limit and Temporary credit limit, while restricting other users to create records only under the Temporary credit limit type?

Hi @Maryem Ayouni,

I believe this requirement cannot be handled by standard D365 security because the framework does not support restricting individual enum values in a field. Security operates at menu item, table, and field level not at enum value level.

To meet this requirement, you may need customization.

As a workaround without customization, you can personalize the form by selecting the required value (e.g., Credit limit), set the field to read-only (Lock), and publish the personalization to specific users.

However, this controls only the UI behavior and does not provide true security enforcement.

Hi,

The standard security concept in F&O doesnt allow you to restrict user in regards to data, i.e. if a role grants access to all customers, the users can see all customers, you cant restrict it to certain records.

However, in order to fully meet your requirement you need to use XDS. Its a development concept where you can use the security configuration in combination with roles to restrict roles to see certain records.

This will meet your requirement that a role grants access only to the "Temporary credit limit" records.

Hi Maryem,

As mentioned above, your requirement is not supported out of the box. It requires a customization. This can be either an additional validation on the table or the XDS approach as mentioned by Adis. With XDS you can set permissions on records to hide records, but also on write permissions separately. In case users are allowed to see all records, but not create new ones based on a value, then this is possible with XDS.
