Search configuration on lookup field ( Dataverse, Power Pages)

Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue with a Power Pages lookup field and I am trying to understand whether this is expected behavior, a cache issue, some configuration.

Scenario

I have a Power Pages Basic Form with a lookup field to the Product  Dataverse table.

The lookup popup displays two columns:

  • Product Number
  • Product Name (primary column)
This display is correct and is the expected behavior.

However, I would like to configure the lookup search so that users can search only by Product Number and not by Product Name.

What I configured

In Dataverse, I configured the Quick Find Active Products view:

Current behavior

  • Removed Product Name from the Find Columns

  • Kept only Product Number as a searchable field

In a Model-driven App, the lookup works exactly as expected:

  • Searching by Product Number → returns results ✅

  • Searching by Product Name → does not return results ✅

However, in Power Pages, using the same lookup field:

  • Searching by Product Number → returns results ✅

  • Searching by Product Name → still returns results ❌

  •

Additional observation

I noticed that in the Power Pages Data workspace, I do not see the Quick Find Active Products view (only Lookup and other views are available no fing view). I am not sure if this is expected behavior or if Power Pages uses a different search mechanism for lookup controls.

Questions

- Is it possible to configure a Power Pages lookup to search only by Product Number while still displaying Product Name as an additional column?

- Does Power Pages lookup search ignore the Dataverse Quick Find configuration and always include the Primary Name column?

- Is there any Power Pages-specific configuration or cache refresh required for this change to take effect?

Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

This is expected behavior — Power Pages lookup search does not use the Dataverse Quick Find view configuration. The lookup control in Power Pages relies on the primary name column of the target table for search, regardless of the Quick Find setup.
    Key points:
    • Quick Find view settings apply to model‑driven apps and global search, not to Power Pages lookup dialogs.
    • Power Pages lookup search always includes the primary name column as a searchable field.
    • There is no supported configuration to restrict lookup search to Product Number only while still displaying Product Name.
    • Cache refresh or publishing changes will not alter this behavior.
If you need custom search logic, consider using a custom lookup implementation via Liquid, JavaScript, or Web API to filter results by Product Number.
