Filtering activity data by excel import name

Hello,

When using import from excel feature to import activity data, is it possible to filter them by the excel connection name in their activity data view? I know that it's not a live connection but I wonder if this can be done. Because we can import the same data using the same excel again, there is no duplicate detection rule I guess.
I have the same question (0)

Dynamics 365 CE does not store or expose any “Excel connection name,” so it cannot be used to filter imported activity records. you might have to introduce a custom field(Batch Id) if you like to track the import by excel name.  Add it both side in Excel and Dynamics.

I see, that's the only way of filtering them down by excel connection then. Thank you for your suggestion of workaround!

Within Microsoft Sustainability Manager App, all activity data tables have a column by the name "Data connection" which is a look up to the Data Connection record that imported the record. So, you can filter the view using that field using the specific connection name to view the results imported. For duplicate detection / upserts, we make use of the OCID column.  Refer guidance here: Data traceability in Microsoft Sustainability Manager - Microsoft for Industry | Microsoft Learn

    Hi Subhajit,

As @ManoVerse said, it's not possible to filter the data if they are uploaded via Import from Excel feature. Since it's not a live connection, it's not considered as connection and the name of the excel file is not coming to Connection column. So to develop a workaround  as ManoVerse's makes sense. However, it can be used if we are getting data through a live connection in Imports page.

    Thanks for the link.
