Manual Packing sales order and put them into pallet

We’re using Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Advanced Warehouse enabled. I have multiple sales orders, each with several lines, and all items are batch-controlled.

Here’s what I’m trying to set up:

  • A warehouse worker manually places items from each order into selected boxes.

  • Each box needs a label generated by the system listing the items inside.

  • The boxes are then placed onto pallets, which can contain boxes from multiple orders.

  • Each pallet should also have a summary label showing what's inside.

  • Finally, one or more pallets are shipped out together.

I’m looking for a setup in D365 to support this process—maybe using the packing station, containerization, or custom work templates.

Manual Packing sales order and put them into pallet
    Hi

    • A warehouse worker manually places items from each order into selected boxes.

You can use the Packing station to pack items in to boxes. Packing can be performed on the Warehouse mobile app, or within a D365 F&O screen.

    • Each box needs a label generated by the system listing the items inside.

On the Container packing policy, you can enable Print container contents to print out the details of the items in each container.

    • The boxes are then placed onto pallets, which can contain boxes from multiple orders.

To support this, you would use the Outbound sorting functionality, which can kick in after containers have been Closed.

    • Each pallet should also have a summary label showing what's inside.

This one I'm not sure about off the top of my head.

    • Finally, one or more pallets are shipped out together.

When you're using Outbound sorting, the pallet (License plate) is moved to the Final Shipping Location. If you are using Loads and Shipments correctly, you will be able to identify the Containers that were sent on each Vehicle, for example.
