Hello

When following the processes listed on this page https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/business-central/localfunctionality/unitedkingdom/making-tax-digital-submit-vat-return I have set up the service connections but cannot retrieve the VAT return periods from HMRC because there is no Get VAT Return Periods action in my toolbar. What could cause this?

Thanks
I have the same question (0)

We had manually entered some dates in the return period, this caused the button to disappear. The issue is now resolved.

i am getting same issue. i did re fresh couple of times my service connection also worked was able to entre auth code however  still not getting that  "get vat return period" button. documentation says do not create manually. what am i missing ?

Don't create VAT return periods manually when submitting VAT Returns to HMRC. VAT return periods must be retrieved from HMRC using the steps above. Creating them manually results in inability to submit VAT Returns.

I would go to service connections and refresh the access token to ensure that the connection to HMRC is valid.

You then need to go to VAT report setup and ensure MTD is enbabled, the correct report is selected and the codeunits are specified, you will also need to enter a User IP Address Service for HMRC to log where the return is submitted from, you can use https://api.ipify.org/

i was able to figure this out.  basically you also need to map code unit on VAT setup . once i did get vat return button did show up

    i hope this helps others.
