How to block SO line unless programming is completed

Hi All, We have a scenario for client where they add a line item to the Sales order but sometimes they have to program the item before shipping. How can we stop the other from shipping before programing is done?

    Hi,

    There are various ways to handle this. Do you need to stop the whole order, or only a line? 
    You can e.g. 
    1.  Manually interact with the Stopped field on the sales order line
    2. Require the usage of a picking list before generating the packing slip. Then only provide picking feedback if the item is programmed.
    3. Use a BOM an production order to convert a non-programmed item to a programmed item.
    There are maybe more options. Without knowing the exact process, it is hard to suggest the best recommendation for you.
