You are not using the quality management module along advance warehouse as designed for your requirement.
Prerequisites
1 - Item is part of quality sampling and all quality management setups are done.
2 - Enable quality order for warehouse process is enabled in warehouse master
3 - Location directives are setup for work type Quality item sampling and Quality orders.
Now when you receive items
1 - Use mobile device to receive items. System will check the Quality item sampling work type location directive and will decide the put location. Ideally QC location as items are moved to QC location.
2 - When step 1 was done a quality order was also generated.
3 - Quality order is processed and validated
4 - System generates another put away work to move items form QC location to final location. The final location is determined by system by using location directives of work type 'Quality orders'. Here you should make one setup for Quality order pass and one setup for quality order fail. Normally for quality order fail scenario location 'Blocked' is selected and for quality order 'Pass' scenario location normal good location are added in setup.
5 - Using the Quality order work workers are instructed on mobile device to pick items from QC location and move them to final location.
So, everything is real and in system each and every movement as it happens in warehouse before and after quality. You can also control the inventory status based on quality test results. It's a very capable module.
if you do not do any of above setups than system will take default receipt location.
