I tried to receive a delivery note on a purchase order where I inserted a procurement category in the line, but the receipt is empty.

I solved my issue. The problem is that when using a procurement category, we must:

View the organization tab in the purchase category strategy and assign the company to the organization.

Enable the checkbox below in the purchase category policy.

Hi,
In D365 F&O, when using a procurement category on a purchase order line (instead of an item), you need to make sure that the product receipt quantity is entered — because the system doesn't track physical inventory for category-based lines like it does for stocked items.

If the product receipt is showing as empty, it's likely because:

No quantity was entered during the product receipt posting, or

The line defaults to 0 since there's no inventory dimension tied to it

Please check the following,

Go to the Purchase order > Receive > Product receipt.

Check how the Lines are being on the product receipt.

On the lines, manually enter the quantity to receive for the category-based line if the quantity is not available.

Then post the product receipt.
