Fixed Asset never get depreciation

Hi:

I have 2 asset that never have any depreciation.  They are active and show N for the fully depreciated Flag. The Place in Service Date= Depreciated to Date and these two dates are both in 2024. The remaining Year, Day = Original Life, Days. I checked the calendar for fixed asset and it looks fine.

When I clicked the cost basis, no invoices showed up there. But when I went to the General and clicked Acquisition Cost, invoices showed up in the Asset Purchase window.

Thank you for confirming, I have move d your question to the Finance forum that supports Dynamics GP. Hope you don't mind.
Holley's answer looks to be for D365 Finance and Operations, not Dynamics GP. It might work differently in GP.

What do you mean by " acquisition not fully processed"?

Place in Service Date and Depreciated to Date are both in last year, but the Remaining Year, Day never changed. Other assets' remaining year, day do reduce and not equal to the Original Life

There are lot's of Dynamics products that can support asset management.
What product are you working with? D365 Finance and Operations, D365 Business Central, Navision etc.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

Based on the details you’ve provided, I think you are using F&O -
And it seems the issue might be related to the setup or posting of the fixed assets.

    1. Verify Acquisition Cost Posting:
      • Ensure that the acquisition cost has been properly posted to the fixed asset ledger. If invoices are visible in the Asset Purchase window but not under Cost Basis, it may indicate that the acquisition cost hasn’t been fully processed.
    2. Check Depreciation Profile and Value Model:
      • Confirm that the fixed asset is assigned to the correct depreciation profile and value model.
      • Ensure that the depreciation method, service life, and calendar settings are correctly configured.
    3. Review Depreciation Start Date:
      • Verify that the Place in Service Date and Depreciated to Date are accurate. If these dates are in the future or misaligned, depreciation won’t calculate.
    4. Run Depreciation Proposal:
      • Navigate to Fixed Assets > Journals > Depreciation Proposal and attempt to calculate depreciation for the assets.
      • Check if any errors or warnings appear during this process.
    5. Inspect Posting Setup:
      • Ensure that the posting profiles for depreciation are correctly configured in the Fixed Asset module. Missing or incorrect setup can prevent depreciation from being calculated.
    6. Test with a New Asset:
      • As a diagnostic step, create a new test asset with similar settings and attempt to post depreciation. This can help identify if the issue is specific to the two assets in question.

    Hope this is helpful :)
