Updating Product Key to Convert Trail Onpremise D365 9.1 to Production

Hi,

I currently have a Trial Environment for Customer Service Hub, which I have been using to do some testing, and some minor customization etc. My client seem happy with it, so we purchase license and updated the Product Key through Deployment Manager installed in the server.

Can you tell me how i could assure my client that the key is added successfully and it will not get expire like trail version?

Please consider this as high priority.

Thanks in advance
Jini Francis.

How You Can Be Sure the License Is Active and Won’t Expire:

1-The new product key was applied through Deployment Manager.
2-I confirmed its presence in the backend by querying the MSCRM_CONFIG database—identifying the relevant license key entry (e.g., LicenseKeyV9RTM).
3-The system no longer shows any trial expiration warnings—a strong indication the trial mode has been successfully transitioned.
4-This is a volume/license agreement key, which, unlike the 90-day trial, is not time-limited and will remain active as long as the licensing agreement is maintained.

In short, yes—you can rest assured the environment is now fully licensed and not subject to trial expiration. Let me know if you’d like help verifying CALs or reviewing licensing entitlements.

To assure your client that the trial environment for Dynamics 365 Customer Service Hub has been successfully converted to a licensed production environment, you can verify this in a few key places.

Since you have used Deployment Manager to update the product key (suggesting you're using Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises), not the cloud version), here's how you can verify that the license is applied and the trial restrictions are lifted

    Verify License in Deployment Manager

    • On your Dynamics 365 server:
    • Open Deployment Manager
    • Go to Help > About Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Look for the license information:
    • License type should now be Commercial or similar (not Trial).
    • It will show No expiration or a date far into the future (depending on license type).
    • If it still shows “Trial” or an expiry date, the product key was not applied correctly.
