Showing options available on Customer Quote?

Hello,
We are a manufacturer and currently our system requires our sales team to create multiple draft quotes under an opportunity, when they used to, in their old system, be able to quote the customer - and select show options list, then select which active options customer has already decided on - resulting on the quote to the customer showing all the options available that they could select if they want….

Then when won, the team would go back to the quote simply and select which options and push it through to sales order.

can this be done in D365?

Yes, this scenario can be implemented in Dynamics 365 by using a single quote with all available options and introducing a mechanism (such as a custom field) to mark which options are selected. Then, during order creation, only the selected items are carried forward. This approach eliminates the need for multiple draft quotes and closely replicates the behavior of your previous system.

    Start simple:
    • Add IsSelected field
    • Update quote template
    • Add flow for order creation

Yes, this can be done in Dynamics 365, but it is not standard behavior. Out of the box, Dynamics 365 requires separate quotes for different configurations, which is why your sales team is creating multiple draft quotes.
However, many clients configure D365 so that: Sales creates one quote and quote shows the base product plus all available options and options are shown to the customer but not all are selected , after the customer decides, sales checks the chosen options , same quote is then converted directly to a sales order
This is usually achieved by using CPQ style configuration or a small customization that treats options as selectable items on the quote
