Title: Inspection Service Task counted and exported to Excel but not visible in Work Order Tasks view (Field Service Mobile)

I'm testing Dynamics 365 Field Service inspections in a fresh new environment and am seeing what appears to be a UI/display issue.

Environment

  • Field Service: 8.8.142.390

  • Field Service Mobile (iPhone): 13.26041.13

  • Dataverse version: 9.2.26023.151

Setup

  • Created an Inspection Template.

  • Created an Inspection Service Task Type and linked it to the Inspection Template.

  • Created a Work Order.

  • Added a Service Task to the Work Order using the Inspection Service Task Type.

  • Created and assigned a Booking.

  • Changed both Booking and Work Order status to In Progress.

  • Logged into the Field Service mobile app using the same user assigned to the Booking.

Observed behavior

  • The Work Order is visible in the Field Service mobile app.

  • The Tasks tab is empty.

  • However, the Work Order header shows "0 of 1 completed", indicating that the Service Task exists.

  • In the web application, the Service Task is visible and can be opened.

  • If I use Export to Excel from the Service Tasks grid, the export contains the expected Service Task record.

  • This confirms that the record exists and is associated with the Work Order correctly.

  • The grid itself appears empty even though the record is present and exportable.

Additional observation

  • If I open the same environment through the Power Apps mobile/web experience, the Service Task is visible as expected.

  • The issue only occurs in the Field Service mobile experience where the Tasks section remains empty.

Has anyone encountered a situation where:

  • Service Tasks are counted by the Work Order,

  • exported correctly to Excel,

  • visible through Power Apps,

  • but not displayed in the Field Service mobile Tasks view?

Any suggestions on specific views, filters, mobile forms, or known issues I should investigate?

This behavior is typically caused by a view or form configuration mismatch between the Field Service Mobile app and the Dataverse web interface. The record exists and is correctly linked to the Work Order, but the mobile app’s Work Order Service Task view is not displaying it due to filtering or form visibility rules.
Please check the following points step by step:
    1. Mobile View Configuration
      • In the Field Service Mobile configuration app, open the Work Order Service Task entity.
      • Verify that the view used in the mobile app (usually Active Work Order Service Tasks) includes the columns and filters you expect.
      • Ensure the filter does not exclude tasks with the Inspection Service Task Type or Inspection Template association.
    2. Form Visibility Rules
      • Open the Work Order Service Task form in the mobile configuration.
      • Check if there are any form scripts or business rules that hide inspection-type tasks.
      • If the form uses conditional visibility based on Task Type, confirm that the Inspection Service Task Type meets those conditions.
    3. Sync Filter Settings
      • In the Field Service Mobile offline profile, confirm that Work Order Service Task records are included in the sync filters.
      • If the filter only syncs tasks with certain statuses or types, add the Inspection Service Task Type to the criteria.
    4. Inspection Template Linkage
      • Ensure the Inspection Template is correctly linked to the Service Task Type and that the Service Task Type is referenced in the Work Order Service Task.
      • If the linkage is missing or broken, the mobile app may not render the task even though it’s counted.
    5. Known Issue Check
      • Microsoft has documented intermittent display issues in certain Field Service Mobile versions (especially 13.x builds).
      • Updating to the latest Field Service Mobile version and Field Service solution often resolves the issue.
    6. Test in Mobile Configuration App
      • Publish the mobile configuration again after verifying the above settings.
      • Clear the mobile app cache and re-sync the environment to ensure the latest metadata is loaded.
✅ Expected Result: After verifying the view and sync filters, the Inspection Service Task should appear in the Tasks tab of the Work Order in Field Service Mobile, matching the web view and Excel export.
