Wave 1 2026 Verification

Hello,

How are we able to verify if the Wave release is in our test environment?

I had been looking at the Server Version, but it is only up 9.2.26032 and I believe the version for Wave 1 2026 should be 9.2.26033.

WIth the general availbility rollout starting this weekend in Europe, we are running short of time to thoroughly regression test our system.
I have the same question (0)

    Hey!

Indeed, 26033 is the starting point of Wave 1 - 2026.  However, you can get the updates in advance:
    b) another approach, depending on where your Environment is located, would be to provision an environmnet in another region that receives updates earlier: on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/released-versions/dynamics365sales you can see that Emea is Station 4 and USA is Station 5. So provisioning  an environment in station 2 (Canada, SouthAmerica, France, Germany)  would make those environments receive updates earlier

There is no definitive way to verify a release wave by checking the Server / DB version. Dataverse version numbers are not reliably tied 1:1 to release waves and can lag behind feature rollout. Wave deployment is feature‑based and progressive, not version‑based, which means an environment can start receiving Wave 1 features while still showing an older DB version.
Because of this, the only reliable way to confirm Wave impact is by validating the Wave‑specific features or UI changes listed in the Wave 1 2026 release plan, rather than relying on the server version. With General Availability (GA) rollout starting in Europe, it’s safest to assume features may arrive at any time and to focus regression testing on high‑impact areas.
Also, please check the release channel configured for the environment. If the release channel is Semi‑Annual, Wave 1 2026 features typically reach production later than GA, usually with a 4–6 week delay, which means May or June is more likely for PROD impact.

If early validation is required, the recommended approach is to have at least one sandbox environment configured with:
    Release channel: Monthly
    Release cycle: Early access
This provides earlier exposure to wave features and allows sufficient time for regression testing ahead of production rollout.
