Deleting multiple failed Inventory / Stock adjustment in bulk

Hello,  we've got into a position where we have 300k failed inventory / stock adjustments we need to delete.

When we go into the stock adjustment screen, select entities and click Delete.  If the failed adjustment has lines it comes up with a pop-up that asks 'Delete journal RP-002794125 completely?' that you need to click Yes to continue on each journal.

Does anyone know how this could be automated to speed this up?

I've looked at 'Stock Journals Cleanup' and this doesn't dop anything.

Many Thanks

    Hi,

yes that routine cleanup that you mentioned deletes only the the posted inventory journals so that does not fit you case.
A Batch deletion exists only at the line level and can be run one journal at a time, unfortunately I am not aware of any other bulk options.

There is always the customization option, but as per standard I am not aware of any other bulk functionality.

Hi, I agree with Paolo. For this requirement, you may need to go with a customization, as I’m not aware of any standard functionality that supports this out of the box. The good news is that the required customization should be relatively small.

As Paolo and Hardik mentioned, there is no standard functionality in D365 F&SCM to delete inventory adjustment journal lines based on a failed status.

However, a possible workaround could be:
Create a “Post Journal” batch job that runs at a set time each day to automatically post all open inventory adjustment journals.
After posting, schedule another batch at the end of the day to delete any journals that remain in Open status.

With this approach, all unposted or open inventory adjustment journal lines includes failed and not, are cleaned up daily, keeping your journal records tidy.

This approach would likely work in organizations where keeping inventory adjustment journals open for a long time is not required. It’s best suited for environments that prefer to post or clean up journals daily to maintain tidy records.
