Setting goals using Connections

Hello Community,

I am currently exploring the Connections feature and wanted to check if it supports setting goals to reach specific positions within a company. Specifically, I am looking for the ability to plan and track interactions with key contacts, such as targeting the CEO of Account X. Ideally, the connection should allow me to select the Contact, their Role within the account, and their influence level.

Additionally, as a manager, I would like to know if there is a way to track whether the contact or role has already been engaged. This could be through creating an activity or linking it to the connection at least once.

If anyone has experience with this feature or knows whether it supports such goal-setting and tracking capabilities, your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,
EBMRay

    Capabilities of the Connections Feature
    • Defining Relationships: Connections allow you to associate records (e.g., Contacts, Accounts) and define their roles within the relationship. You can specify roles such as "CEO" or "Decision Maker" to identify key contacts.
    • Tracking Influence: While Connections can describe relationships and roles, they do not natively support tracking influence levels or setting goals directly.
    Tracking Interactions and Engagement
    • Activities: You can create activities (e.g., tasks, emails, phone calls) and associate them with both the Contact and the Connection. This provides a way to track engagement history.
    • Custom Solutions: For advanced goal-setting and tracking, such as targeting specific positions or influence levels, customization may be required. This could involve:
      • Adding custom fields to the Connection entity for influence level or engagement status.
      • Leveraging Power Automate to automate tracking and notifications.
      • Using dashboards or reports to monitor progress toward goals.

    Hope this is helpful :)
